ANGIKA presents śrī
ANGIKA presents śrī, a new dance piece specially created for and commissioned by the Festival. Performed as a trio, śrī is inspired by the sensuousness and subtle emotional complexities of the Indian woman or heroine traditionally portrayed in classical Bharata Natyam dance. For this work, ANGIKA draw on contemporary parallels to evoke a lyrical expression of the universal theme of sacred yearning, which is at the heart of this dance form.
