Golden Globe nominated for her role in this film, Maggie Gyllenhaal stars as Sherry Swanson, an ex-prisoner and reformed addict trying to get her life back on the straight and narrow. As she attempts to make amends and rebuild her relationship with her daughter, Sherry realises she is unprepared for the demands of the world that she has stepped back into.

The Birds Eye View Film Festival was launched in 2005 as a positive and creative response to the fact that only 7% of film directors are women. Now in its third year, the festival opened on International Women's Day (March 8th) at the National Film Theatre, followed by 6 days of international docs, shorts, features and special cross-arts events at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London. Birds Eye View patrons include: Anthony Minghella, Joanna Lumley, Mike Figgis and Juliet Stevenson.
