Nina’s Heavenly Delights
Dir: Pratibha Parmar 94 mins, UK 2006, (PG).
With Introduction and Q&A with Special Guest Bea Freeman
Nina’s Heavenly Delights is a surprising love story where Scottish humour meets Bollywood spectacle! Told through the eyes of Nina Shah, a young Scottish Asian woman engaged in her own highly personal identity crisis. Nina had left home after a row with her father but when he dies suddenly, she is forced to return. In the turbulent days that follow, Nina's feelings are thrown into turmoil when she realises she is falling in love. Can her feelings ever be reciprocated? And, if they are, what will this mean for Nina and her family.
Award-winning Director, Pratibha Parmar, was the recipient of the Frameline Award in 1993 for outstanding contribution to lesbian and gay media.
