A special programme of shorts and documentaries compiled by Liverpool-based Pidgin Production's Director and Festival Steering Group member Bea Freeman.

Elderly, Iris meets the love of her life, Percy, in an old people’s home and decides to build a time machine from a wheelchair.  Nominated for Best Short Film Race In the Media Awards London; International Best Short Film Award, Images of Black Women Film Festival; Best Romantic Short Film, International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival, Phoeniz AZ; Runner Up Bluefire Award, Kino Film Festival, Manchester, UK.

The lyrics of Calypso songs are the bible of the Creole spirit and great Calypso singers combine the talent of Esop, and homer with a touch of sophocle. Calypso songs are about everyday life about the humane condition.

The Director Writer Pascale Obolo is not new to documentary filmmaking.  Her theme  in Calypso music  follows her pattern across the Caribbean documenting the lives of people and tradition.  Pascale studied at the University of Paris & master in film studies at the Conservatoire Libre Du Cinema.

In Rio ,O Pagode do Trem has become the biggest and most original Samba event of the year and sets the mood for the city’s world famous Carnaval.
