Marva Whitney

Marva Whitney has been called everything from Soulsister No. 1, the First Lady of Funk and Marvellous Marva to Miss Excitement. An incredible live performer who excels at feisty femme funk and sassy sock-it-to-'em soul, she first made her mark on the scene in the late sixties with James Brown produced "Its My Thing." Since then, she's developed into one of the rawest, brassiest divas and provided some of hip hop's hardest working samples. For this rare UK show with her 7 piece soul power revue, she will be playing tracks from her incredible new album  "I Am What I Am".
