Karen Dalton Tribute
Karen Dalton’s starkly haunting voice was revered by all who heard it in New York's Greenwich Village burgeoning hip coffee house scene in the 1960s. Dalton performed alongside legends-in-waiting like Bob Dylan, who described her as having “a voice like Billie Holliday” who “played guitar like Jimmy Reed and went all the way with it”. Tonight, her music will be performed by The Karen Dalton Allstars featuring singer Petra Jean Phillipson, Tim Harries (Steeleye Span) and Simon Tong (Blur, The Verve).
