REALITY PRODUCTIONS Presents 'oUo-Maan'
'oUo maan' (woman) takes a witty and intelligent look at society's fascination with labels and the people who wear them. This production is a frank, witty, coming of age drama that challenges perceptions of disability, while exploring themes of identity, infatuation and inner strength.
Written and performed by Deborah A Williams, 'oUo-maan' will appeal to anyone who is interested in seeing how integrity and self-belief can change the path of life. This semi-autobiographical piece shows Jackie as a remarkable woman who refuses to conform to society's expectations of a Black, disabled woman.
She's warm, funny and moving and this performance is both informative and uplifting. 'oUo maan' is bound to leave you feeling moved and inspired!
Make sure you book your tickets now to see this powerful performance.
'Williams' downbeat, distinctly Brummie wit punctures the general seriousness and she throws in some powerful well-sung blues. This is a personal piece, honest and interestingly suspicious of identity politics.
